Commission a Custom Painting
If you’re drawn to my river works, sky pieces, or gold abstracts, I offer a limited number of commissioned paintings each year. Together, we can create a piece that reflects the story, place, or feeling you want to bring into your home.
Held in Time
Massachusetts | Commissioned Artwork
Created for a newly married couple following a major home renovation, Held in Time was designed to bring warmth, personality, and emotional connection to their newly completed bedroom.
While the room itself was beautifully finished, the couple felt it was missing a meaningful focal point—something that reflected not only their style, but the significance of this new chapter in their lives.
Drawing from the room's palette and atmosphere, I created a painting that balanced serenity and energy, allowing the work to feel both grounding and alive. The finished piece became more than artwork for the space; it became a reflection of a moment in time—marriage, home, change, and the beginning of a shared future.
As the collectors described it, the room went from feeling "simply finished to feeling personal, warm, and complete."
The title, Held in Time, speaks to the desire to preserve life's meaningful transitions and hold onto them, even as life continues to move forward. The result is a painting that brings beauty, depth, memory, and connection into the heart of the home. Read the collector story>
Before the Sunset
Princeton, New Jersey | Commissioned Artwork
The collectors had recently purchased a second home in Santa Fe and were deeply inspired by the region's extraordinary sunsets. Using a photograph taken during their travels as a starting point, I created Before the Sunset, an abstract interpretation of that experience.
The commission was designed specifically for their Princeton home and a newly updated color palette. Rather than recreating the landscape, I focused on capturing the feeling of the moment—the glow, atmosphere, and anticipation that exists just before the sun slips below the horizon.
Created to fit both the scale of the space and the character of the room, the finished painting became a bridge between two places the collectors love: their everyday life in Princeton and the inspiration they found in Santa Fe.
The result was a piece that felt both personal and timeless, bringing warmth, memory, and a sense of place into their home.
"A commissioned painting can do more than fit a space—it can capture a place, a memory, and a feeling that becomes part of everyday life."
Marine Snow
Book Cover & Interior Design Commission
I was commissioned to create both the cover artwork and interior design for Marine Snow, a collection of poetry exploring resilience, connection, and our shared humanity.
Inspired by the book's themes, I created artwork that reflects the quiet strength that carries us through life's challenges and the beauty that emerges from deeper currents beneath the surface. The imagery became a visual companion to the poems, echoing their emotional depth and sense of hope.
