Held in Time: In Their Words
When I created Held in Time, I knew it was going into a deeply personal space — a newly renovated bedroom for a newly married couple beginning their life together.
What I didn’t fully know was how the painting would feel once it was in the room.
Their words say it best.
After we finished our house renovation, our bedroom looked beautiful, but it still felt like something was missing.
Since we both love art, we knew the room needed something meaningful — something with emotion and personality that tied everything together. Then Sharon created Held in Time for us, and it truly transformed the entire space.
Seeing the painting in our room felt like the final layer the space was waiting for. The room went from feeling simply finished to feeling personal, warm, and complete.
We keep getting drawn back to the center of the painting, where the darker tones meet the bursts of color. There’s something about the balance between calm and intensity that feels familiar — almost like a reflection of the process of building this home and starting this new chapter together.
The title, Held in Time, feels especially meaningful to us right now. It makes us think about preserving this season of life: marriage, renovation, creating a home together. It feels like a reminder to pause and hold onto it, even while life keeps moving.
The painting completely changed the feeling of the room. Before, the bedroom felt clean and finished. Now it feels layered, intimate, and emotionally connected to us.
We couldn’t recommend Sharon more highly — not only for her incredible talent as an artist, but for her ability to create something deeply personal that makes a space feel truly complete.
This is what I love about creating commissioned work. The right painting does more than fill a wall. It can hold a moment, complete a space, and become part of someone’s story.
If you’re interested in a custom painting for your home, I’d love to begin a conversation.
